At certain points in life, things that once felt manageable can begin to feel overwhelming. You might be living with anxiety, self‑doubt, or a loss of confidence — perhaps following bereavement, a period of emotional breakdown, or a significant life transition. You may feel unsure who you are now, or caught between what you can and can’t control.I work with adults who are navigating these moments of change.

Many of the people I support feel they’ve lost touch with themselves, are questioning long‑held patterns, or are carrying the impact of past relationships and attachments into the present. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and reconnect with yourself in a more compassionate way. I offer person‑centred counselling in Hilton, Derbyshire, between Derby and Burton upon Trent, as well as online sessions.

I provide a warm, calm and accepting space where you can speak openly and be truly heard. Our work is led by you — at your pace — with care, respect, and without judgement or pressure to be fixed.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My practice follows the BACP Ethical Framework, with confidentiality, care and professional integrity at its core. I am committed to ongoing supervision and professional development to ensure I offer thoughtful, ethical and high‑quality support.

Support for Anxiety, Overwhelm and Low Self-Esteem

How can anxiety counselling help?

Counselling can offer a calm and supportive space to talk openly about how anxiety is affecting your life.

Through person-centred counselling, you will be listened to with empathy and without judgement. As a BACP registered counsellor, I work in line with professional ethical standards to ensure you feel safe, respected, and supported throughout your counselling journey.

Together, we can gently explore what may be contributing to your anxiety, including thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. As your understanding grows, you may begin to recognise patterns and feel more in control of your responses.

Anxiety counselling can help you feel more grounded, build resilience, and develop ways of coping that feel right for you.

How can counselling for low self-esteem support you?

If you are struggling with confidence or self-doubt, counselling for low self-esteem, counselling can provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore how you feel about yourself.

In person-centred counselling, you are supported to talk openly and be accepted as you are. As a BACP registered counsellor, I offer a professional, ethical, and compassionate approach, helping you feel at ease as you begin to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Together, we can explore how your self-esteem has developed and how it may be affecting your thoughts, feelings, and relationships.

Over time, counselling can help you challenge negative self-beliefs, develop greater self-acceptance, and build a stronger sense of self-worth.

How can counselling support overwhelm?
